Fees

Research is charged at £16 per hour excluding coping costs, certificate and wills which are charged at cost. We will discuss any potential additional costs prior to purchase.

Copying

In some cases digital photographs can be included in the price and you may be required to sign a copyright declaration form for some archives. We are guided at all times but the archivists as to which materials can be copied according to copyright law and the condition of the document in question.

Travel costs

Travel time and travel costs to local archives within a 5 mile radius are included in the price. Travel to other archives will be charged at the UK standard rate of 45p a mile minus the first five miles which are free so a 10 mile journey would incur £2.25 in costs.

Photographs can be taken of locations that were of importance to your ancestors whether that be the church they were married the street where they lived or the cemetery they were buried. The cost depends on the number and range of locations required please contact us with details for a quote.

Tours

Tours and itineraries are developed on a case by case basis depending on your requirements they may involve me ordering up documents to be ready on your arrival at archives, sending you copies of local heritage walks, providing you with google map pinpointing the relevant locations.

As each tour or itinerary the cost varies, is unique additional charges may be incurred if family or local and social history research is required in addition to the tour please contact us with details for a quote.

Schools

The schools workshops are under development at the moment and should be available from September 2012. If you would like to start work on another workshop topic then please let me know fees are waived if you help to develop the teaching resources with me.
